With a strong social justice and a desire to see quality marketing BBW was started with the intention to support local small businesses. It’s these local businesses that are the backbone of our economy and they were poorly serviced by other web design companies. Before we came into the market you only had three options; [1] high end awesome design, but at a huge cost (bordering on extortion IMO) or, [2] a range of cheap and incomplete solutions from uncaring corporates, or [3] a beautiful looking site, but with very little strategic consideration built by freelancer. So, when we first started BBW we wanted a company that could deliver a well thought out, well written and professionally designed website that was within the financial reach of a small business. Our first step was the adoption of a SaaS model pricing strategy,  this allowed our clients to build a quality site sooner than later and keep their hard earned money for other business initiatives. Another unique aspect is our full development of the website before any financial commitment is required, generously giving an entire month to finish it before payments start.Once Big Boy Websites was successful enough the next progression we made was to hire a quality Web Designer bringing in-depth UX, UI knowledge and creative flair to make our sites unique and attractive. Along the way we had the  funds to employ a Studio Manager to manage the process ensuring that our clients work was progressed and completed in a timely manner. A DIFFERENCE MATTERS

The web business in a very busy and competitive market, so standing out matters. As my accountant always states, the 'mushy middle' is a place you never want to occupy. This place offers you no difference between your business and the rest. When I was consulting with the small business sector, the most important marketing task was to develop a unique offering. So when it came to building Big Boy Websites our entire initial effort was invested in developing a model that stands out. We have done this in two ways, firstly with our pricing strategy, building a website for no money upfront and secondly having the option to pay monthly.Currently, Big Boy Websites is the only agency that offers:-A 'try before you buy' option, with no money upfront, alleviating the element of risk for new clients, and a quantifiable difference between us and the rest of the industry which requires a deposit before anything is done. 3 TIPS TO STARTING

Here at Big Boy Websites, we have numerous processes and systems for just about everything... [even Friday drinks]. Outlined below is a process that was poached from my son's teacher and today impacts every opportunity or challenge that anyone in our team is confronted with.Sit ThoughtfullyEvery time one of our team delivers something that's not up to our BBW standard, I gently inquire about the process they employed and 9/10 times they've inadvertently skipped this first step. This is the hardest step to complete because in our society we tend to belittle sitting around not working ... you need to get over this and take some time to sit and think before acting. Personally, I take myself on a bike ride if I have really big challenges to solve and I've found that 30-50kms most times nails a solution. Generally, the best place to do this is in a quiet and distraction-free environment... [that includes NO phone]. I also like to take a notepad and a folder of notes related to the task.Start SomethingYou can not improve anything that is not already started, therefore do something, anything, even if its shit just as long as you start something and the great thing is that you can always make it better, just like this blog... [last count 3, no make that 5 versions].Be Committed to finishingAfter starting something, learn to finish strongly. This is a powerful principal; getting things achieved which ultimately keeps you being very employable.
